" The Trotsky " (2009) is a Canadian comedy film written and directed by Jacob Tierney, starring Jay Baruchel as Leon Bronstein, a Montreal teenager convinced he is the reincarnation of the Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky.

Leon tries to replicate Trotsky’s life, including searching for his own "Lenin" and "Alexandra" (his future wife), leading to a May-December romance with a graduate student.

The film explores themes of youthful apathy versus political passion, social justice, and the intersection of history and personal identity. Content Highlights
