George attempts to dispose of Shiv's body but does so incompetently. He is spotted by his neighbor, Reggie, and caught on elevator CCTV dragging the body. This leads to a police investigation by DS Cooper, who arrives to arrest George for murder three weeks after the checkpoint.

Despite George's extreme sacrifices to bring her back, Sarah reveals at a meeting that she has met someone else and is getting married. She feels George has fundamentally changed, unaware that he destroyed the world just to be with her.
