Use the language a person uses for themselves. If you are unsure of someone's pronouns, ask politely or share your own first to create a safe space.

A person’s identity is their private information. Never "out" someone or share their transgender status without their explicit consent.

Individuals whose gender expression doesn't follow societal norms for their assigned sex or who identify outside the gender binary (e.g., non-binary, genderqueer).
